I ask this because when 2.1 first came out, there was a crude jailbreak method that was released. It worked but you had to use 2.0.2's mobileinstallation file which made backups, syncing, etc very slow.

Also, everyone seems to feel like posting a thread on a new jailbreak release, even if its already been out for weeks. If it is worth to jailbreak, whats the best software at the moment to use?

As others have said, just use the latest release of PwnageTool. It will create a custom firmware for you to restore from. Or you can just use QuickPwn if you're already running 2.1. You don't have to mess with the mobileinstallation file at all. I think it's worth it just for the significantly faster app download and backup times.
