    It all depends of you.

I don't think it will be useful in college. A laptop would be much more useful.

I don't think you'll be able to use it until college. Apple will release a new one every year, so you'll always want a new one

Dude, you shouldn't be thinking about college yet if you're an eighth grader, it's just not healthy.

As for if the iPhone is worth it, I would say it depends if you (or your parents) are willing to pay $200-300 for the device, and another few thousand on the contract over two years for voice + data. It's a really useful tool, and I would recommend it. I hope they iron out the antenna issue, though.

I'd say it's worth it if you plan to keep it for awhile. It will last two, maybe three or more years if you won't be interested in upgrading or just can't. If you're on a budget and thinking about upgrading in the future, a 16GB model will do you well. Just be sure to buy insurance to cover the years you plan to keep the device. I suggest SquareTrade, as they'll cover more for less.

I personally wouldn't trust an iPhone to a 8th grader, but that's subjective.

You'd probably break it. No offense.

If you can afford it, then go for it. Just take extra good care of it, it's a $700 device.. And I love my iPhone, I couldn't live without it anymore
