I read somewhere that Windows 98 can be downloaded on to the iPod Touch. Is this true? If so...how?

At the current moment, there is no way to do this. In order to do this, a developer would have to first create an x86 emulator for the iPod/iPhone. After that, you would need a Windows 98 image and put it on your device. Then install.

Many reasons why we DON'T do this:
-Many of the powerful emulators (PSX) don't work well on the iPod/iPhone because it causes lag.
-Processor in the iPod Touch 1g is too slow to run Windows 98 + iPhone OS.
-The screen is too small to run Windows 98
    -And many, many more!

Well, technically speaking it IS possible.

You just won't be able to run it

It isn't designed for ARM architectures. (I think?)

You're absolutely correct Bubalooshi, it's not for ARM, its for x86. That's why there would have to be an emulator. It would still be hard to use though. And might not run too smoothly on the first gen iPod.

You can always do a vnc client, where the OS is running on a computer and you just see the desktop from you iPod screen and can control the mouse and keyboard. But the computations are all happening on the desktop/laptop. Some functions like audio/video are limited

Forget Windows 98...i want Windows 3.1. If DOSBox was on it this would actually be possible.
