Well my computer is pretty old, maybe since about 05'. Its fine now but the video, audio, and sound cards are all damaged and Dell ain't supporting it anymore. Heres the specs right now:

    WIndows XP
    Media Center Edition
    Version 2002
    Service Pack 2

    Intel
    Pentium D CPU 2.80GHz
2.79 GHz, 0.99 GB of RAM

    Dell Dimension 5150

    It would run windows 7.
It is time to upgrade though if it is an '05 computer though.
It may be able to run it, but not as well as you would hope.
    My opinion is to upgrade.

If its getting slow, I'd try throwing some Linux on it, just to see if it runs faster. Try Ubuntu.

If its still slow... Then yeah, get rid of it if you can. If not, then hey! Ubuntu is awesome

I have ubuntu then changed to kubuntu to check it out. Only reason I'm using XP right now is cause I can't get my internet to work for it.

If you're looking for a nice desktop, HP has some good ones that I love. If you can go the distance in terms of price, there is always the Macbook pro and the iMac, too. But HP is generally cheaper and more powerful.
