I have been wanting to jailbreak my ipod since the jailbreak has been made possible for 2nd gen, but i'm worried for a possible brick. Is it true that things can go wrong even if you follow the guides step-by-step?

The only way that it can get bricked is if you delete every single file on the iPod/iPhone or you delete the kernels. Don't worry it's safe if you have the knowledge of a 5 year old...

If you do your own Command prompt or Terminal jailbreak with copying and pasting codes, then yes things could go wrong.

But that doesn't need to happen if you use a GUI like redTool or Quickfreedom or use the Dev Teams redsn0w 0.3 which are automated.

But you can always DFU restore and try again.

I intend to use one with GUI, is there a safest choice or are they all the same?

They are all basically the same as they use the 24kpwn implementation.

But as for how they work their different.

I would suggest using redsn0w 0.3 as it allows you to use LogoMe and gives you a faster boot time, and it doesn't force you to lose any information such as music and apps that are already on your iPod.

Yes it will install Cydia and there is no messing with Libusb in it, so it won't mess up your USB ports.

why do you ppl still think that by deleting everything you can brick it? It will always DFU no matter what you do with software.
