    To swap the memory chip in the ipod with one of a higher capacity? E.g swap the 8gb chip for a 16gb one?

    8 GB is enough if you know your music. And since you still need a computer to charge it why not just sync new stuff while you're at it ?


    PS: Next time be more descriptive with your thread title (ie. "Can I swap the 8 GB memory chip with a 16 GB one?" or "Turning an 8 GB into 16 GB", etc.)

    Techniclly, you could. You would have to get another iPod of the higher capacity, take both apart, and swap around the parts so that your original back/screen has new guts. Kinda dumb to do this since tho.
