    i was just thinking if it was possible to do a hardware mod on a ipod touch to make it have 3g?
    but i doubt it is...

    errrrr, that's extremely difficult. you need a sim card slot. The device needs to be registered to the carrier that you will be using, and for that you nee dthe mod to be approved by the fcc, and they won't approve it.

    Possible? Certainly. Almost anything is possible.
    Probable? No. Jailbreaking is easy to distribute as it does not require you modifying the device's hardware. A hardware mod will never become popular because it is not a one click process. Anyone with the skills to hack an iPod in that way would probably just buy an iPhone.
