I don't want to jailbreak the ipod, and then the thing doesn't work anymore.

And then if I have to end up restoring it will it set the iPod back to normal?

I'm really nervous about jailbreaking this thing.

Are there any good websites that talk in detail all about the jailbreaks?

Jailbreaking will NOT wreck your iPod touch. If your iPod touch gets wrecked, it's apple's fault and hopefully they will give you a new one. There is no reason not to jailbreak it, unless you want your warranty, but if you restore you will get back your warranty.

When you restore the iPod touch, it will make everything back to normal. If it doesn't, it's apple's fault and tell them it's either a software or hardware defect.

Don't be nervous, there is nobody on this board (as I can tell) that bricked their iPod touch by jailbreaking.

There are many websites such as
    http://spoonforknife.googlepages.com (mine)
    http://www.crunchgear.com/2007/11/19/help-key-how-to-jailbreak-your-ipod-touch-with-112/ (crunchgear)
    http://youtube.com/ipodtouchmaster (ipodtouchmaster05's)

search and you can find some more. Happy Jailbreaking!

mines been jailbroken since the 2nd day i had it no problems at all.

also jailbreaking it does void your warranty but if you restore it, then nobody will ever know you jailbroke it so its all good.

however if for some reason you jailbroke it and restoring wouldnt work youd be screwed but i havent heard of that happening

jailbreaking is 100% safe and now its 100% fool proof

do you know how to type in a web address on safari?

do you know how to scroll to the bottom of the page?

do you know how to press a link?

do you know how to open safari if the jailbreak hasnt started already?

do you know how to press the link again and watch your screen?

do you know how to re-boot your ipod if it doesnt automaticly??

    thats it lol!!

soo easy so safe soo fool proof!

If you can't restore it with iTunes could you not just rub a magnet over the back and mess it all up then return it to apple? I done that with an old MP3 player and the just sent me a new one.
