I get all my voicemails emailed to me in wav format, when you use the iphone mail client it shows the attachment with a quicktime symbol and when you select it, it launches quicktime and even shows the time and controls but then says "movie could not be played". I would think this would be possible considering ipods, safari, and quicktime all support wav files.

if anyone has any ideas, post them, I'm sure i'm not the only person who could use this mod.

Unforutnately, QuickTime doesn't support WMV formats natively. You'll need to install a codec. Don't think that option is available for iPhones however

thanks for the info, bit wav isn't a wmv format, its an audio format used on music cds, and quicktime does support it, it must be disabled on the touch

Much time has passed, can this be done now? I'm in the same boat.

    temp solution:

forward the email with the attachment to messages@iphoneConvert.com

a minute later, a reply email is sent with a link that when clicked, sends you to safari where you can easily listen to it.

until apple fixes it, this works well
