    Hi,
I am making a theme using categories SB, its made to sort of replicate the mac OSs so I am having the lock screen like a start up screen then the springboard like a log on screen with 2 users (2 SB categories, within which, may be further categories for other apps). The first is guest (for games and the like) and administrator (for settings, winterboard...a lot of cydia apps, etc).
Anyway...I don't really care what you think of that, the reason I told you is because the springboard is the log on screen, i would like to have a power down and lock option on the spring board. I am using respring for the restart.

But does anyone know a way of getting icons on the spring board that when presses either lock or turn off the iphone?

    Thanks

I'm not exactly sure if this is what you're looking for, but QuickLock from Cydia might do the trick.

what happens if you accidently press it? and you know it takes pretty long for the ipod to boot back up. especially if your tethered.

the idea is because of the theme, you wont spend long there, it will be clear what it is and away from most of the other options so it shouldn't be a problem.
