I'm just wondering if it's possible. And no, I didn't do it or think I did it, I'm just wondering if it is possible.

    Why would you want to?

I don't believe so based on the fact that DFU is a hardware based restore mode, and not implemented into the actual firmware. But you never know I guess, but I would say no, but that doesn't mean it isn't possible, I just think it would take somebody quite a bit of time to do so.

DFU mode is located in within the ROM I believe which is read-only memory so you can't get rid of it unless you physically destroy the part of the iPod which holds the ROM rendering your iPod useless.
