Is it ok to jailbreak if you have music and videos on it? I looked but could not find a good answer.
Yes that´s no problem!
You just have to manually put the files back on because they WILL BE ERASED if you want the process to turn out properly (ex: they say restore device before begining). Good Luck bailing you ipod out. (get it..i know im corny w/e)
ur music just wont show up until u fix itunes syncing which will be accomplished in the process
That is completely false. I never took the songs off and they stayed on. Oh yeah, on both iPods I have jailbroken.
That is true, my songs, videos, photos etc stayed on there too.
Really...I guess mine's is defective o_0
No, im not sure but I think different installers do delete vids and songs whereas others don't. I can't be sure though. But your ipod is not defective. It erased my songs and videos too, but then again its not really a big deal. Just let it sync your music + vids. It'll take a while based on how much stuff you have on it.
Look if you want minimal risk just restore ipod before jailbreaking. I have done it 4 times and no problems. I have my ipod filled with videos and music and it only takes like 20-30 minutes to sync it all (8GB).
