Is it legal???

    Does anyone know if it's legal for a teacher to take away an expensive ipod from a student OVERNIGHT!??!?!?!?!? I can't live without it soooo... i was thinking of talking to my principal but then ipods might get banned in my school. So i decided not to.

    wow you guys are lucky. our teacher will turn it in and you have to get it at the police station for $100

    unless it is written in the school hand rule book... if not the teachers get punished... if it was a sub.. they cant do anything about it... i know.. i been there... and done that...

    It isn't legal. It's called theft. Though if you did take it to court they would probably just win on 'common sense' grounds. Oh and school rule book things are not legally binding.

    Thats stupid see... i was finished my work we were all waiting for the other groups to finish writing and i started playing tunnel and BAM She snatches it like a fat kid snatches a smartie... I dunno if that made any sense but still yea..

    Depends on what the rules for your school is.

    Mine is if they see us using (or possessing) any electronic device (phone, iPod, etc), they take it away for a semester (long time). However, you can buy it back for $25. If they catch you again, it'll rise to $75, and then after that the higher authorities (Principal and VP) decide what happens.

    I can't do anything about it as long as I pay to go there.
