Hey guys, I recently Jailbroke my iPod in tethered form. I just wondered whether it would harm ur iPod leaving it in sleep mode all the time instead of turning it off when it isn't in use. Atm, when it isn't in use its usually connected to my computer so the battery doesn't go down a bit. I jus wondered if leaving the iPod on all the time would damage it in some way.

    Thanks in advance.

No, I don't think so, I leave mine on most of the time.

Don't always keep it plugged in, it can hurt your battery to overcharge it.
maintain a cycle [charge it to 100%, then wait for it to go down to 5-20% battery remaining, THEN plug it in for a charge]

    This is just like saying:
"Is it dangerous to leave your cell phone on 24/7?".

Keeping it plugged into the computer won't harm the battery because when the battery gets to 100%, the iPod will be stopped charging until it goes down again to 95%.

This is not true at all, well the second part that is.

Leaving you iPod plugged in will not do anything to hurt the battery. There is a protective mechanism in Lithium-Ion batteries that will prevent the dreaded overcharge.

I leave my iPod everytime on, even before the JB.
It's like the Mac Books, always in sleep mode, never turned off ;-)

Nope, it shouldn't be a problem.
I keep my iPod on all the time, just make sure you DON'T over charge.

The longer you leave it on, the larger your cache gets, so that it may get very slow and maybe jumpy. I wouldn't know because I don't have an iPT 2G yet, I've only heard from somewhere on the internet.
