Soo bascally I've been neglecting my iPod for ages, and I desperately need to update it...

I've heard a rumour that iOS4 is really slow on the touch 2G.. Is there any truth in this? Also taking into account that mine will be jailbroken.

Basically I want to know whether it's worth upgrading? And am I missing out on much by being on OS3? (i.e. Are there many new apps which require OS4?)

Well with all the features enabled on my 2g ios4 mb model its fine...a little slower than I would like...but no better than it was running 3.1.3. Of course I am yet to remove the daemons I had removed on 3.1.3 and im considering disabling multitasking...although it is useful.

I have a non-jailbroken 2nd gen Ipod touch, 16GB and its pretty slow at times.

The browser can get very laggy at times, and transitions just aren't as smooth.
Its nothing I can't live with though.

Just mess around with you files from threads and youll have it back up to 1.1.1 speed.
