Just curious. I've had it hidden with Poof for months.

Also, is Installer 5 out yet? I have an update request on Installer - the last time I used it was like 6 months ago. Should I update it? I heard that it occasionally caused major issue that required a restore.

Is there any harm in updating it? I'd like to get Icy, as I'm sick of Cydia's load times.

No harm updating. You can get Icy from Cydia: just add the ripdev repo (look it up, can't remember

I like Icy a lot, of course it needs some improvements but overall is very good

You can get Icy in Cydia and updating installer is fine to do.

i actually use installer alot more than cydia.

I find it to be much faster than cydia (no 20 seconds reloading time every time i install something)

AND I JUST CANT GET ICY TO WORK IT IS PISSING ME OFF

Cydia is pretty much the giant right now. I remember when everyone used Installer. Then Cydia came out with search, it became easier to install, and it was a lot more stable than Installer. Soon everyone switched to Cydia.

Icy is nice, but there aren't groundbreaking features that would make me use it over Cydia.

Ok. I updated Installer (went fine), but the source in Installer for Icy wasn't working.

I added the source in Cydia, and four reload cycles and two crashes later, I had Icy installed. Now, I know Cydia is the standard, but Icy is far more efficient. No reloading, no crashing, it just works fine.

Landscape and skinning are excellent as well. Time to find an OSX styled skin for it.

I put Cydia and Installer away, and Icy is now my go-to app.
