title says it all. everytime i open cydia, it freezes at "downloading packages" and would not continue afterwards. other times it would say to upgrade an app that i already upgraded. anyone else having this problem?

Happens a lot! I think it has something to do with the multitasking feature. When you close Cydia, it's actually still there and it loops over and over everytime you open it. But don't quote me on this. Personally, I got accustomed to it, I mean it gets the job done and it doesn't stall at "downloading packages" as much anymore.

I had same problem, but I just let it sit there and it would finish the job... Anyway.. I had the same problem when I jailbroke my iPod 2G with RedSn0w 0.9.5b5-3. And when i heard that there was an updated version.. i messed up my iPod and had to restore.. and on freshly restored ipod i jailbroke with RedSn0w 0.9.5b5-4. So yeah... On RedSn0w 0.9.5b5-4 i had no problems with cydia what so ever. Everything is fast for me. Try re-jailbreaking with RedSn0w 0.9.5b5-4.
