I have like 1 single dead pixel thats not incredibly noticeable, but still clearly evident on full brightness especially black screen. I have the first gen ipod touch with warranty till jan. 2010. If its covered do u think id be getting a first gen replacement or a 2nd gen? 2nd gen would be nice

dead pixels are a hardware issue, it cannot be fixed with software, stuck pixels on the other hand, are different. Still no software fix i think, but apparently, pushing against them softly fixes it.

I heard there were some things you can try to fix dead pixels. But if you mess something up, Apple might not replace it. If you have the warenty, then you might as well just send it in.

this is what people need to learn

Dead pixel= the pixel is hardwarely gone, cannot be fixed.
stuck pixel= Malfunctioned and is stuck on 1 color, can be fix, all though it is hard.

My bad, that's what I was thinking of. Yea, dead pixels can't be fixed.

apparently if you download the flashlight app, put it on strobe mode, let it flash and rub around the area of the dead pixles, they should be restored. im not sure if it works or not, but hey! give it a try, what do u have to lose
