Is it worth the fight for me to update to 3.0?

It's faster, smoother, has better wifi, better battery, and most apps are being ported over. Some are going to work only on 3.0

In short, yes. Yes it is.

    No need for multiple threads.

    Absolutely.

I don't see how it's a "fight" for you? It sure isn't for me.

If you're going to jailbreak it via redsn0w I recommend avoiding it. It has problems with rebooting. If you're downloading stuff from Cydia or whatevers and it needs a reboot it'll get stuck on the apple logo boot cycle. If this happens to you, there is a quick and simple fix, turn on iTunes, hold the home button and connect your USB cable and keep holding it and then it should ask to connect your ipod/iphone to iTunes. It will then recognize it as an ipod in recovery and shift click restore from there

Yes, it is worth it. Developers have been submitting 3.0 compatible apps for a few months now. Most apps that work in 2.0 will work in 3.0, barring a couple of small issues that can be easily fixed. Overall, this isn't the huge jump from 1.1.4 to 2.0, but it's big enough that if you don't upgrade, you'll feel like a small ant in an abandoned anthill.
