Hey guys, I have an ipt3 still on 3.1.2 FW And jailbroken with the tethered blackra1n. I'm kinda boob so I didn do anything like save blobs or whatever. I was wondering what my jailbreaking possibilties are if I restore it. Can I upgrade to i4os and jailbreak?

You can either backup you SHSH for 3.1.2 and then use iH8snow's new snowbreeze for a tethered jailbreak. (it's quite a process though)
Or you can backup your 3.1.2 SHSH and the DFU restore to 3.1.3 and use untethered Spirit to jailbreak.

You should go with the first option; you can use the guide in my sig to jailbreak it.

You can't save your SHSH blobs now. Apple stopped signing them months ago. If you're using an 8bg device, thats no problem, as you can just DFU-Restore to any firmware above 3.1.1 anyways.

Jailbreak with iH8Sn0w's preservation method, and you'dd be good to go.

Even if you are on a 32/64gb MC model, you will still be fine to do the jailbreak, you just won't be able to restore (to anything less than 4.0) if anything goes wrong.

Ummm thats wrong, you cant restore without the blobs since Apple stopped signing the firmware. you can back up the blobs at any time as long as you dont leave 3.1.2 without backing them up.

Actually, those blobs need to be signed by Apple. Which they are not doing for 3.x.x. It's too late for anyone to save those blobs now, which is why there was a lot of fuss before iOS 4 was released.

SHSH blobs are only accepted by iTunes if they are signed by Apple, which they only do for a limited time, to make jailbreaking more difficult.

No. As ryanangus said, the blobs have to be signed by Apple.
