Wanted to JB my iPod touch 3G 32GB with FW 3.1.1 by using b1ackrain. Seemed everything was ok until itunes pops up with message "recovery mode". b1ackrain was displaying "JB was succesful, need to reboot".

And my ipod touch never turned on again and doesn't show any image (apple logo or USB cable). DFU is not working (i did DFU tons of time before this situation, so i'm sure i did everything OK to DFU). Even Windows doesn't recognize my ipt3 as USB. It's just death.

    So please help me

It's tethered. It's supposed to say connect to iTunes. You just run blackra1n to boot again.

I know it's tethered. I'm not so newbie as you think.

And it isn't showing any sign of workable device. I ran b1ackrain about 10 times, after tenth try i understood that it's useless.

Does windows recognise anything when it is plugged in? Even if it's not an iPod, does it say "flash storage device" or anything?

Plug it in to see if it's the charge, then run irecovery. That might work.

Crank the volume on your comp. Close iTunes, and anything else making noise. then plug it in and listen for anything

I actually had a similar situation once with an iPod Touch 1G. It wouldn't turn on or go into DFU at all, and wouldn't make any contact with the computer.

A week later I randomly tried it again, and it turned on, working perfectly.

Just leave it somewhere for the battery to drain. The longest it should theoretically take is 300 hours if it's fully charged. THEN try it.

I've still got no idea what did it to my iPod Touch but, hey, waiting for the battery to drain seemed to work.

I'd try what Evil Corsair reckons. He's onto something!
