Ipod stuck in off mode, DFU won't work, tethered jailbreak.
My ipod was still in the tethered patch when suddenly the music started skipping and then f***ed up altogether with a long ringing sound playing after, it then shut off.
I have tried several times and cannot get it into DFU mode, or turn it on.

    Any ideas?

Try leaving it on charge then trying DFU again.
An iPod will always be able to DFU.. Apparently.

install libusb and have your ipod connected and try DFU mode again. if you dont hear anything then wile its plugged in reinstall libusb and at the end of the installation you should hear it and if you still dont hear anything just try booting it up like if it was in DFU mode. sometimes you just dont hear it. if it still cant find your ipod then try a friends cp.

The ipod is unresponsive, even on my brother computer, and I already have libusb installed.

Well, when you do fix it you should untether so you will never have to deal with this inconvenience again.
