    Hi!

I tried to jailbreak my Ipod Touch 2G with the redsn0w 1.0.2(semi!). I used the Windows tutorial in here. I somehow mixed step 12-14 up(in iRecovery).

Now i just want get back to normal - unjailbreaked.

So i get my iPod Touch in DFU Mode (yes, it is in DFU Mode, not Recovery).
I extracted iBoot, iBSS, iBEC and WTF from the 2.2.1 Firmware and used iRecovery to put them on the Ipod. I think this should have reversed everything.

Now i try to recover my Ipod (in DFU Mode) with Itunes.

Error Message: (sry i have a German version, i try to translate it)

No Firmware was found/is available for your iPod. Please make sure you have the newest Version of iTunes.

    -I have 8.0.2, so it's the newest.

Now i try to recover it manually by Shift-Klicking the Recovery-Button and choosing the 2.2.1 Firmware.

The Screen on the IPT turns white, then Apple Logo, then the Ring under the Apple Logo, then the Loading Bar...everything normal.

When it's complete ITunes says: (German version

) Your iPod will reboot now and then you can restore your Data.

Well... and here is the Problem:

The iPod will show the Apple Logo and a second later the Connect to Itunes-Logo.

I tried this with Win Vista and Win XP, i have USB 2.0, i tried several ports. - Always Connect to Itunes

    .

Just to make sure: I don't want a jailbreak, i just want 2.2.1 on my Ipod, unbroken, normal.
If you want to say:"Try the setenv thingy in iRecovery", then explain to me how it will change my Ipod. I already revered changings in iBoot, iBSS, iBEC and WTF. (At least i think so)

    THANKS FOR HELP!

Umm.. Try manually turning it off by pressing and holding the Power and Home for 15 secs. Then put it into DFU, then restore. That's what I did when I messed up.

    It's not working.

I put in in DFU (yeah, DFU.. Home& Power for 10 secs, then let Power go and hold Home for 10 secs), restore it.

ITunes says it was succesfull and it will reboot now.

But The Ipod wont reboot - it will show an Connect to Itunes-Logo just a second after the Apple-Bootlogo.

    It's not a Computerpoblem, it's a Problem of the iPod, isn't it?

    Thank for help!

    Same Problem here,
I tried to restore about 500 times :/ also in dfu, and yes it was dfu.
Always the same problem, after restore itunes said:"Every was set back"( i don't know the correct translation, i'm from germany.)

It all started after i tried to apply the semi redsnow. While restoring there was an error (1604).

I tried to clear all env vars with irecovery but it didn't help.

Hopefully someone knows how to fix it.

Same issue... I don't think any of us are having trouble getting into DFU and/or Recovery mode in preparation to restore "any" firmware, custom or original. itunes recognizes it as an iPod in recovery mode and even "restores" to whatever firmware you choose. After iTunes is done "restoring" it sees that very same device as an iPod in recovery mode.

I don't know if any of you have recognized on your device, but my connect to iTunes logo looks like it is from a different version of iPod. (It shows a regular USB cable connector, and not the wide iPod connector).

I was also able to use it jailbroken, right after I completed (semi-thethered), but after first reboot, I have had this issue.

    Any thoughts?

After i copied all dfu and img3 files in the Firmware 2.2.1 into the ipod and not fixing the problem i gave up and i'll send it in to Apple.

    I coudn't use it jailbroken.

my Connect to itunes logo is also the USB-Logo.. very interesting..

How is that we all have these Problems and there is no fix?

if you're in recovery, open any program that will allow you in a shell with iboot(redj0hnny irecovery)

    and enter 'fsboot'

    It's not working.

    iRecovery -s [Enter]
    then fsboot [Enter]
    /exit [Enter]

No Response from the iPod Touch.

I think it's not "normal Recovery" - cause normal Recovery would show an Ipod-Dock to Itunes Logo.

But we have USB to Itunes Logos...
