my ipot just randomly shut itself off, and when i go to turn it on it keeps restarting itself. i plugged into my computer and itunes wont connect, and the computer thinks its a camera. so i put it into recovery mode and now itunes thinks its an Iphone!!!! i really cant afford to restore cause my laptops broke and all my music is on it.

    Ok, i had this.

You have to force restore it. Turn off your iPod and hold the home button down while plugging your iPod into your computer. Keep holding the home button until you see the itunes restore signal.

With this problem I think you have to restore.

Oh and also this goes in the Technical help section. Not the 1.1.4 jailbreak.

Yes. Go to advanced options and hit normal mode. I a not sure if this will work and what effect it will have on your music though.

this happened to me once, but when i would plug it in the unlock screen would flash for 1/2 second.

i held down the power button and then pluggede it n (finger still on power button) and then i slid my spare finger across the slider and all was well

or you could try hard reset w/o losing anything
