This is just a list of applications that I have found necessary in one way or another.

    - - - -

    Applications
Installer - Installs 3rd party applications
SummerBoard - Allows for themes, and a lot of applications require it
Customize - Icon reordering, application hiding, new graphics, etc etc. Why WOULDN'T you install this?
BSD Subsystem - A lot of applications require this.
OpenSSH - Needed in order to use PuTTY/WinSCP to SSH into your iPod
MobileFinder - Browse files, applications, and directories on your iPod. Great application
Term-vt100 - Running text commands is the best! A unix terminal for the iPod Touch.

    Tweaks
AudioAmp - Boost the sound of your music. I've found it boosts by about 40%.
Kb - iuhfuiefh. I HATE auto-correcting on the touch. Install this!
Touch Calendar Fix - I don't use a calendar application on my computer, so this is necessary for me.
MIM |NEW| - Change the text "iPod" in the top right corner of your iPod to any text that you please. Great for personalizing your iPoT. Max 6 characters until it scrolls across.

    - - - -

Add to the list! Don't add games, etc. Only applications that are necessay!

    audioamp, mobilefinder, and touchcalenderfix? srsly?

audioamp doesnt do anything unless you have an iphone, touch calendar fix aka 1.1.2? and mobilefinder is just winscp to go and the rest are also pretty trivial except terminal which i doubt you know how to use, ssh, and bsd subsystems

i have all the iphone apps but i could live with just my videos and music because after all i did buy a portable media device to store portable media not open cans
