Right, first of all, just in case I've posted this to the wrong part of the forum, I couldn't find a "help" section, so apologies if this is in the wrong section.

    Information:
    iPod touch 3G 32gb
    3.1.2 firmware
    jailbroken with blackra1n.

    Problem:
Right, so after the price of Windows 7 dropped a bit, I bought it, partitioned my hard drive and so on, and stuck it onto that partition.

My iPod is sync'ed to my Vista installation, and won't be recognised by iTunes AT ALL on my Win7 installation.

So I figured I'd just restore to 3.1.2 factory settings (on my vista installation), and re-jailbreak (Win7).

iTunes doesn't support 3.1.2 anymore, or something like that.
did the same thing with 3.1.3, no suprise, no support anymore.
This means no restore to either of them.

    So my question is;
Does anyone know a way to force restore to get past apple's verification, or will I have restore to 4.0, which I don't really want to do, for a couple of months, until I'm sure of a decent Jailbreak ect..?

P.s. I'm not really bothered, as it just takes about 30 seconds to restart and load my other partition, but when I get a new PC, for college, I'll need to be able to sync to that, which i can't yet.

SORRY! for the huge block of text.
    Hope there's a decent solution,
    Thanks.

In short, probably not, since I don't know what that is..

And I was under the impression that it forced a firmware upgrade when downloaded.
Or is that the other way round..

well that might be your problem. Apple stopped signing that firmware so you might have to upgrade to 4.0 (you can jailbreak)

Are you sure? (Just checking, no offence!)

And thank you, that was what I was thinking..
What program can I use to jailbreak 4.0?
