I've got a 16GB iPod Touch with the 2.0.1 firmware. Lately it's been a bit picky with its WiFi connection capabilities. It'll connect to my WiFi just fine, it'll check the weather, it'll check Stocks, the remote app works just fine, Maps works, but Safari, the App Store, the YouTube app, the Facebook app, the Mail app, and the iTunes store are completely unresponsive. The apps load, but then they treat it as if there's no internet connection. Anyone know what the problem might be?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,
    Peace + Love,
    robshoy

either an application bug, a firmware bug, or all of the above

It could also be your router. I had 3 Belkins, they each had the same problem, they kept on cutting off the connection whenever they pleased. It would become a pain to download big downloads like the firmwares and SDK for the iPhone. But asside that, it ended up to be the router.

I doubt it's the router because the WiFi works perfectly on my Macbook, but thanks.

As for the application bugs/firmware bugs, what should I do? I already did a complete restore from iTunes. And the problem still exists.

Any suggestions as to a solution?

if it's a problem with the firmware, then you should either

    A: restore
B: wait for a more stable firmware to come out (2.0.3?)

but if it's a problem with the app, then there isn't any practical* way to fix it

I've restored twice now. Once from iTunes and once from the iPod itself. The problem persists, which makes me think that it's an application problem. So I've gotta ask, what are "impractical" solutions? Could I take it to Apple? I don't have a warranty on it though...

It's definitely alive... Maps, Stocks, Weather, and the Remote app all work perfectly. But certain thins, like the App Store, iTunes store, Safari, Youtube, and the location-awareness feature in map simply don't. It's a really weird problem.
