I highly doubt that Apple will, with the release of the third-generation iPod touch, leave the 0x24000 vulnerability. So, what does this mean for people wishing to still have a jailbroken device? Would you buy it anyways? Will Apple create another vulnerability in their attempt to fix a previous one?

I'm not getting mine 'til Christmas, so I hope they can find a vulnerability by then.

According to a developer on the dev team who I work closely with, that isn't the only vulnerability. In fact there are many vulnerabilities! So chances are the iPod Touch 3g will have at least one of those and be jailbroken almost immediately.

This may be the case, but the real question is are exploits via these holes hardware-related, or not. If not, then Apple can keep fixing them.

    No code is 100% secure.

Most likely hardware since they are all related to the bootrom.

The dev team will always have a way.

The dev team actually had the full iPod Touch 2g jailbreak way sooner than we thought they had it. They only held it back because they wanted to "save" the exploit for the iPhone 3gs.
