I recently jailbreak my ipod touch with the tether jailbreak method and I installed Winterboard. After I installed winterboard it immediately turned off the ipod and now it is unrecognized on the computer. I also have tried the hard reboot thing and it doesnt work

You do now that tethered means you have to connect it to a computer and run patches for it to reboot, and tethered is very outdated. Put your iPod into DFU mode and run Redsn0w 0.3

Okay so I tried to connect my ipod to the computer but it says my ipod is unrecognized so I can't enter DFU mode.

Oh I know why it hasn't been working. I was using the wrong computer for the recovery now everything is working.

I bet you did this post just for the sake of it. You just invented your case.
