Have you tried disabling disk mode before connecting? Just something i read on the seven forums.

I have no idea! Thought it would make more sense to you. Probably worth asking on the seven forums if your stuck. I think there's info on it there anyway in the stickies and people on there will be able to help you get it fixed if there's a way. I'm interested myself as i'm on windows 7 too.

For me, iTunes freezes up for a bit everytime I plug in my iPod. Its annoying, but my freeze is temporary and after a min or so it starts working again. How long have you let it sit and think?

I've had this issue with iTunes 8 and 9, Vista and 7, from FW 3.0 and on.

What does the disk mode refer to then? Sounds like it might be disk write access mode in windows. I thought it was a function of the ipod.
