OK so when I switched my iPod back on I went into videos and then decide to back out. However pressing the home button didn't work so i tried again and the music controls came up (no matter how long i waited between the two prress'). So I thought i will just switch it off and on again.... except the slide to switch off never came up. Tried to restore it and got an error

EDIT: It seems to be restoring now (3rd time lucky???) anyone know why this happened :S

apparently its something to do with the usb port. Just in case you get it again.

"I switched USB ports and that did the trick. iTunes updated the firmware and synced everything. "
