I just got my 3rd gen iPod Touch. I was able to Jailbreak it fine, get Cydia installed and then I was trying to install OpenSSH. OpenSSH wanted me to reboot the iPod to install it. When I let it "reboot" the screen went black and wouldn't do anything. I hard rebooted it by holding the power button and the home button and then restored it using iTunes. Now when I try to Jailbreak it again it holds at the black screen again and the only thing I can do is the hard reboot and restore it again.

Is there anyway I can fix this?

how about trying to boot your ipod with blackra1n, cause it's tethered.

@gunot2100 is right: the jailbreak is 'tethered'; which means that when ever you want to reboot, just plug in your ipod and run blackra1n. no data will be lost; it's just irritating. If you don't want this; just not jailbreak. Sometime in the future there will be an untethered jailbreak for iTouch 3G out. It was the same with the 2G.

Greenpois0n next year or geohot said he was gonna work on an untethered jailbreak but who knows when it will be out.
