ipod wont jailbreak on itunes 9?

    I have itunes 9 and my friend wants me to jailbreak his ipod touch 2g using quickfreedom and the problem is it wont let me jailbreak it but it does with itunes 8. am i doing something wrong or do i need itunes 8. if you can tell me how to downgrade from itunes 9 to 8 it will be a big pleasure.

    The problem is, you're still on 2.X. Update your firmware and use blackra1n.

    but tht will make me go 2 3.0 and tht costs money is there any way I can downgrade iTunes?

    ok.. then is there any way i could update to 3.0 for free.... cause the link only downloads 9.0

    I think you can put your ipod into DFU mode and then try to restore it and iTunes will automatically update it to the most recent firmware (3.1.x). You can always Shift+Restore to go to 3.0

    He is absolutly correct!. Plug into itunes so you don't lose your stuff. wait for the sync/backup to finish. Then dfu the ipod. iTunes will tell you there is an update available. accept. It's free. Then enjoy the speed and simplicity when you "MAKE IT RAIN!'
