Ok, so, I figured out the password to my school's wireless network.

So I type in the code, it connects, I get 3 bars up in the top left, but when I go into iTunes, it gives me and error message:

    Cannot connect to iTunes Store
    Invalid Argument

And when I try and open Safari, it gives me an infinite "connecting" screen

When I go to the network info, the IP address and subnet mask are filled in, but every other field is empty.

Now, I am certain that the password is correct, I have taken several of my friends' iPod touches and I've typed in the password and connected, and WiFi works flawlessly on theirs, but mine won't connect for some reason.

Wow, your schools have WiFi? During my school days (more than 10 years ago), there was no such thing as WiFi or bringing your own iPod touch, such a long time back!

And yup, it is indeed true that school WiFi will block access to jailbroken features in an iPod touch. I do not know about my office WiFi though, whether it will prevent usage of the jailbreak apps, since my iPoT is running on the standard firmware...

I remember those days. A family of ten of us used to live in a shoebox. We'd get up two hours before we went to bed, eat a cup of cold gravel for breakfast and then swim 10 miles to school across a frozen lake... etc etc (ty Month Python)

Any other solutions? I know that iPods are not blocked because I've used my friends' iPods and successfully connected to the network.

I'm sorry, but this doesn't help me in any way, shape or form.

Some are iPhones, some are iPod touches. Most are 2nd gen (like mine) and running 3.1.x firmware, so yes, they are exactly the same except that some are iPhones.
