My ipod will not turn on all that is one the screen is the apple and swirl underneath it
hold down power and home buttons until the screen goes black, then just keep holding them and it should turn back on.
Hold down the power and home buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds. The screen should turn off and after a few seconds it should start to reboot.
If that doesn't help, try holding the power and home buttons at the same time for ten seconds, then let go of the power button while still holding the home button for about 10 more seconds. This will put your iPod into DFU (recovery) mode. Plug it into iTunes, then click restore. If that doesn't fix it, you might have a hardware problem.
you have to have it plugged into the computer for DFU mode
Not true, you can put it in DFU at any time.
