Hey, I'm probably not going to stay here long, but I need some help. I have a jailbroken iPod Touch 2nd gen. and the headphone jack has become loose. I was wondering if I could unjailbreak it, and then send it in for repair (I still have the warrenty). I heard that jailbreaking your iPod will void the warrenty. So basically to sum up my question, will Apple be able to detect that my iPod HAS been jailbroken, even after I've unjailbroken it.

I really hope this made sense. And I really need some help, thanks!

Restore it through iTunes (set it up as a new iPod, DON'T restore from a backup) and you're good to go.

Apple doesn't know if you have restored your iPod from a jailbreak, despite the diagnostic files that often have data on cydia and other jailbreak apps. I got my iPod fixed after a recovery from jailbreak, and they never noticed it.

Okay, I did what Awal said. And it worked, my iPod is all fine. But is there anyway that I can check to see if my iPod is unjailbroken? I just wanna make sure before I send it in o_0

If its been restored, its been unjailbroken, you'll be fine.

To make the jailbreak COMPLETELY undectable, DFU + Restore

    **INSTRUCTIONS**
    Make sure iPod is off
Hold Power Button for 3 Seconds
Now Hold Home w/ Power for another 10
Now let go of Power and continue holding home for 30 or until you hear a chime
Your iPod will be black and seem unresponsibe. Welcome to DFU

    On iTunes:
A message box will come up, ''iTunes has detected an iPod...''
Hold Shift, Click Restore, and restore to an official firmware (2.0, 2.2.1, 3.0, etc.)

Your iPod will apear non-jailbroken and no traces will be left.

I suggest AFTER you resored to an official firmware, to ERASE ALL DATA AND SETTINGS

    * Do not attempt this when your iPod is jailbroken, as it will render your device unusable and stuck at an Apple Boot Logo, (happened to mine... lol)

Just Restore as NEW ipod, then add some random free apps. Apple would suspect something if its scratched at the back, couple smudges, and completely empty.
