I put my iPod into DFU mode after a recent Spinning Circle of Death incident. But every time I tried to restore it with the Shift+Restore method, it would give me a error message saying "An unknown error occurred 1601"

I had the latest iTunes... please HELP!

    Yeah try firmware 2.1.
Even though I don't have it, I hear it's much better.

yup as said you want to be upgrading to 2.1, the error 1601 usually means that its not in DFU mode right, thats always the error i got anyway

Yeah , I just keep trying DFU until it works.
