I was following the instructions in that video.

Right after I let iTunes upload the firmware (at 6:25 in the video) I'm supposed to put the ipod touch in DFU mode. However instead of a chime (after holding down Home and Power), all I get is two quick "pops" and the message "USB Device not recognised. One of the USB devices has malfunctioned, not recognised".

The ipod touch is still off: iTunes doesn't pop up, I get no bright white screen, and I can't go to the next step. Can anyone help?

you do know that you hold the sleep/wake and home button for ten seconds and let go of the sleep/wake button and keep holding the home button for 10 seconds to get into DFU mode, right? Not just sleep/wake and home
