so, I have tried several times to completely turn my ipod touch off by holding the sleep wake button and sliding the power off thing. It turns off but two seconds later it boots back up again. I have even restored like five hundred times. I've tried as many times as I could and I haven't been able to turn my ipod off. HELP!

holding the sleep wake button and sliding at the same time or holding it down till the slider pops down then letting go of the button then sliding?

the only way i can get it to turn off all the way is if it is connected to my ipod a/v cable via 30pin dock connector otherwise it will not turn off. this is really weird.

Doesn't holding the sleep and home button just restart it? Correct me if I'm wrong, but to turn it off, just hold the sleep button and slide the bar.

he is talking about the sleep/wake button not sleep and home button
holding the sleep and home button forces mine to shut off

    settings

If it wont turn off, restart correctly, or restore on iTunes you can go to (homescreen-settings-general-reset-erase all) that always worked for me! but i only have had to use it 3 times.
