Ok, I have a huge problem with my iPod in iTunes, the error is.

"iTunes cannot read the contents of the iPod "De Andra's iPod" Go to the Summary tab in iPod Preferences and click Restore to restore this iPod to factory settings."

It was working last night, and now it said that.

Do you think it could be because of my cord?, my cord's ends are ripped and you can see the wires on both sides.

Also, It's charging toooooo fast, like in 10-20 minutes, it'll be on 80% when it shouldn't be there at all, and It could be like at 20% and it goes to 80% very early... I have an iPod Touch 8GB 3G, which is actually a 2G. The software is
3.1.2, since I downgraded from iOS 4 a month ago.

Also, it's not jailbroken, and sometimes my songs skip or don't play.

I never dropped this iPod yet.
