i bought a ipod touch today and when i went to plug it into my computer it isn't recognized, when i plug it in it just says "found new hardware" windows needs to install driver software". after that, i clicked all 3 options, looking for it online, ask me later, and don't ask me again ever. it shows up in device manager as "other devices" - ipod with a ! beside it. so then i decided to sync it to my laptop which runs xp and it works fine. i tried reinstalling itunes and whatnot and it still doesn't work? any ideas anyone? please?

what version of itunes u got. You might need a newer one. Make sure its all the way updated. Cus the ipodservice.exe might be different depending on itunes.

    Device:
    iPhone 3G (Black)
    Try doing this:

    uninstall iTunes
    uninstall Apple Mobile Device Support
    reboot
    re-install iTunes.

    Me too

Just got my touch today and Vista (both premium and business) as well as XP wont recognize it. Itunes works fine.

Anyone know whats up? I've reset, rebooted, restored, re-initialised, both ipod and windows.

    I'm stumped!!!
