Hey guys, my ipod touch 1G is getting the iTunes sync screen when i boot it. its been on 2.2.1 for about 6 months, and last night i turned off my ipod, then about 30 minutes later turned it on, and it gave me the screen. im 100 miles away from my computer with my itunes, and this laptop im on for some reason doesnt detect my ipod. So im wondering what can i do to fix this problem without syncing? this is the first time this has happened to me. thanks.

What the heck is "sync screen" ? Those one with "Synchronizing" label on top and "Slide to cancel" bar in the bottom?

it shows the itunes logo with a usb cable going towards it, like if its a new ipod that needs to be synced with itunes. its just random for it to just show up after reboot.

DFU not necessary I guess, simple restore might work out.

idk if its really recovery mode though..... see i can still do the power off slider thing, and i can see my status bar, with the time, and lock symbol, and wifi bars, from my os x theme on my ipod.
