hey i have an ipod touch 2g with a headphone jack that doesnt work, it is jailbroken. a local store said they can fix it for $30, or i can bring it to my apple store and they said if the broblem is severe enough they will replace it or just repair it. My question to u guys is that do you think that is a bad enough problem that apple would replace it, because if they do even though i lose all my jailbreak data i have a new ipod, which is the best way to go.

i think you ahould restore and try your luck with apple. tell them you thought it might be software, so you restored and they will most likely get you a refurb with a whole new exterior so it'll look brand new.

Definitly restore before taking it to apple.
once they see that it's jailbroken, they just give it back to you

If you do that make sure there is no personal data on it. Engadget did a report on electronics that people sent in to fix and they actually stole personal info. Bank #'s ect.
