Hey everyone my ipod touch just went through the wash for 30 minutes!!! I'm freaking out this is terrible! I pressed the home button when I first got it out of the machine but it didn't turn on, and as of right now its sitting in a bowl of rice. Will it survive!?!?!?

You shouldn't have tried to turn it on. If you do turn it on when its wet it short circuits. It might survive though.

yeah, is pressing the home button, even if nothing happens count as turning it on?

well im guessing that a 30 minute rinse cycle will trigger the litmus paper so if this don't work ur done for.

I've seen a lot of people saying "put your ipod touch in a bowl of rice, if it was in water"
    what exactly does that mean?

It means put it in rice if it got wet. The rice dries out everything.

Leave it in rice for a week, and then try and turn it on. DON'T TRY UNTIL THEN.

edit: I believe that using acetone can turn the paper back to it's original state, but don't hold me to it.

Rice absorbs water. Just pack it in there really good.

For what it's worth (and I know it's not the same) whenever I've dropped my mobile phone in water I've always put it on a low radiator to dry out and it's always worked.
