I just checked online and my ipod says its under warrenty still. Can I send it back for a new one, because it has a problem it won't turn off. Can I send it back? If so how and how long does this take? Does it cost money?

If it is still under warranty and there is a hardware defect, you can send it back to Apple and get a new one in return for free. However, it is much easier and faster to go to an Apple store. They'll look at your iPod, and if you can demonstrate that a problem exists, they'll hand you a new iPod right then and there.

I've also only got less than 6 months left on my warranty... It's time to go for that Extended Warranty soon!

And speaking of iPod exchange at a Service Center (in Malaysia), this will usually take 2-3 days before they call and ask you to drop by for collection... Never done that in an Apple Reseller though...

In the US, if you schedule a Genius Bar appointment, then you can talk to a "genius" about your problem.
