i can tell you this: PSP is better for gaming; iPod Touch is better for media (since that is what it was designed for no?)

correction to make: iPod Touch has 128MB of RAM and not 16GB (that is storage memory). PSP has 32MB of RAM (PSP Slim has 64MB)

You cannot compare the two, they are for two totally different purposes.

the only comparison that matters to me is one is a gaming system one is made for music.

also, i must add that the processors are designed to do completly differnet things thanks to RISC.

EDIT: PSP has one main MIPS processor and a dedicated "chip" for graphic output.

You should take your own advice. First, the 8G that the PSP can have is storage not program memory. Totally different. Second, I believe that there are HomeBrew applications for the PSP which is analogous to JBing the Touch. BTW, iPod also has games, not to the extent of the PSP but it does have games (and even emulators which expand the number of available games). The PSP also plays movies which can come on UMD disk. Sort of handy when you run out of 16GB of space on the iPOD.

The bottom line is that they are built for 2 different purposes. The iPod is a better music and movie player whereas the PSP is a better game console with the capability to play movies. Neither one is an all-in-one device.

also, if you've ever "overclocked" your psp to 333 MHz, you'd know that the bus speed of the processor at 333 MHz is 166 MHz.
