So in my earlier post, i resolved my firmware issue by using my dads Laptop.

I thought this was just the one thing that was causing my ipod not to connect properly, so today i plugged it back into my computer.

It really doesnt work! I've tried all 9 ports in my computer (an Acer Aspire X1200),if that helps, and nothing works!

It connects and disconnects, restarts, hangs and just keeps going

Now, what i get when i turn it on is the screen taht shows a connector pointing to the itunes

And since it keeps turning on and off, ituenes keeps giving me errors like "itunes could not connect to the iphone because an invalid response was received from the device" and "itunes could not connect to the iphone because an invalid response was received from the device (0xE8000001) or (0xE8000065).

I've tried searching for things that would help, but this is really odd..

ignore everything that happens on your ipod

    1. connect you ipod to you computer
    2. open itunes
    3. Hold both home and power together for 10 seconds
    4. Let go of power, but keep holding the home button until you ipod touch is recognized by itunes

If it is working on your dad's computer, then it is not the problem with the ipod. Get your computer mb checked and if it is a laptop (Sorry I don't know much about acer and their stuff) and if it is under warranty, try to get some help from acer. Also try to plugin other periferals like a printer and see if that is working. Hope it helps

Is it charging? If not then you've got a hardware issue.

Well, as i said earlier, it flits between connected(charging) and not...

My ipod video and nano connect perfectly well though, as do everything else that needs a USB port: its just my ipod touch...

Edit: Update! So i updated some random USB things, and now it gets recognized at least, but it still cant stay connected
