After installing some crap from Cydia, my iPod restarted springboard, and was unresponsive at the lock screen afterwards. By this, I mean that neither the lock nor the home buttons work, and the screen doesn't respond to touch. It does, however, allow me to hard reset by pressing both the lock and home buttons, but after a 3 minute restart, the iPod is right back at a frozen lock screen. It also seems to respond to being plugged into the computer, but it still won't allow me to unlock it by sliding the bar.

The obvious solution would be to SSH the iPod touch and delete some of the recent things I've installed using Cydia. However, this is impossible because WinSCP won't let me SSH while the iPod is locked. I'd really love to at least be able to use it, so is there some way to put it in safe mode so I can work with it?

I can use SSH while in the lock screen. What was it that you downloaded?

A third party app called "vwallpaper".

try using iFunbox to SSH, since your on 2.2.1, afc2 should be installed. delete vwallpaper from iFunbox.

Sweet, that works. I deleted it, and hopefully my iPod will work now.

Edit: I deleted it, but it's still unresponsive.

What else did you download before it stopped responding to touch?

13 essential updates for Cydia, but it rebooted after I did that and there were no problems yet.

There has to be something you downloaded that is causing the problem maybe some kind if lock screen tweak/utility. Are you still on 2.2.1?
