Ok, pretty much my ipod wont sync.

I've looked and searched for answers, but nothing works.

When I try syncing it says on ipod 'Sync in progress' then it shuts down. So, it's deferral not working.

I've uninstalled ituens, reinstalled and did everything.

I restored my ipod to factory settings, and no luck with that either.

Are you using a USB 2.0 port?

Also, are you manually syncing media or is it automatic syncing. If your not manually syncing, under devices, click your iPod touch, go to the 'Summary' tab and check off 'Manually manage music and videos.' and select 'Apply'. Now try to drag & drop music from your library to where your iPod touch is listed under devices.

That's all I can really think of, as you've said you have restored and also reinstalled iTunes.

Hmm, that's really weird. checking off 'Manually manage music and videos' did the trick.

Now, do you know how or why that works?

    That's just so weird.

    Thanks! +1rep

I really don't know why automatic syncing would not work though..

Ok, so if you have reinstalled and installed iTunes, and your iPod still won't sync, I would take it in to get it repaired or looked at by a Mac Genius at your local Apple store). I suggest that you backup all files and apps on your iPod (using iBackup), restore it, and take it in to the Apple store to see if they can replace your iPod.

Did you try to sync on another Computer?
