I would like to know how I can disable the Sleep/Wake button so I may continue using my device without it locking and unlocking constantly.

I'm pretty sure that you can't disable it. Try taking the iPod in and getting it fixed.

Correction, restore to remove jailbreak and then take it to apple,or take it somewhere else to fix it.

I dropped mine yesterday and it fell down with a silicon case but it hit with the power/sleep button side

It was unlocking, locking, and showing the "Slide to Power Off" screen. But luckily I dropped it again (this time wasn't an accident, i did it) and it fixed it

I am not suggesting you to try my method because it might break completely your button..

I have the same issue as RyanTaylor.

It's not mechanically stuck or anything. It might have a bad connection but I think it could be software-induced. I have the regular iPod OS, not jailbroken.

I'm looking for a way to disable the button so that it stops constantly turning the device on and off, wasting my battery charge, and interfering with running apps.

any help would be greatly appreciated.
